Letter to the editor from a concerned citizen.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am sending this email to tell you some ways of helping the endangered species. By helping the environment you are helping yourself because the consequences of a destroyed environment influence you as well!

First of all, you should never throw plastic bags into the sea because sea turtles think that the plastic bags are jellyfishes and so the eat them and die. Also never throw waste into lakes or rivers because that does a huge damage to endangered species. And last but not least never go hunting when it is not allowed to.

The consequences that we will face if the food chain collapses will be devastating! That is if a kind of animal seizes to exist then another kind of animal will multiply bringing chaos to the world! That is why we should take better care of the environment to preserve endangered species and make sure that they will not seize to exist!

I would like to thank you in advance for reading my letter and I hope others will agree with me and speak up for the environment. Together we can make a difference!

Your sincerely,

 Bill Po

Environment in Danger! ... by Haris K!

The last few years, our planet and environment, is being destroyed by us. The world is getting worse, because we are not as careful as we can. One of the problems of this planet is the danger of animals becoming extinct. These animals are endangered species.

The consequences of a possible extinction of entire species like wolves or foxes and eagles will be huge and devastating. There are many direct consequences but the most important of them is the destruction of the food chain in global scale and the destruction of nature's balance. Even if only one animal becomes extinct, all the food chain will collapse like a tower of cards.

Even though there are simple precautions that people can take to save and preserve endangered species, very little is actually done by individuals to protect what we have. There are protective actions, like putting stickers on our windows at work or at home, to help little birds not to collide onto them.

Another thing could be slowing down when driving, especially if you're driving in a provincial road, you should be careful not to run over a goat or a sheep far worse a bear or a fox. Moreover, anyone can join an organization that preserves endangered species or tries to keep the wild life population intact.

We can do these little things as well as become actively interested in endangered animals and do what we can to protect them.
